Outdoor Project

Overview

I started writing for Outdoor Project in 2019 and soon became a paid contributor. Because this position requires me to do a lot of on-location research, I learned a lot about preparation, fieldwork, and additional research. Good hiking, navigation, and first aid skills also came in handy. Photography services and GPS-related tasks also play a significant role in creating content for Outdoor Project.

Content

At Outdoor Project, I focus solely on producing engaging, informative content. Mostly, I create detailed hike descriptions. I’ve also dabbled in biking or snow-shoeing adventures and beach guides.

Although the main focus is to provide information about the trails, trailheads, amenities, and other important details regarding the adventures submitted, I often add in a few extra sentences about natural history, geology, interesting facts, etc. to keep people engaged. After all, one is more likely to come back to where they got something extra on top of what was promised.
