Overview
The San Francisco Marathon hired me in April 2022. Over time, I took resposibility over several projects and am now fully responsible for their blog and website copy. I also collaborate with the San Francisco Marathon employees on social media copy, newsletters, internal email communications, persona work, abmassador communication, and other tasks.
Copy
Newsletters make up the majority of copy I write for the San Francisco Marathon nowadays. Besides transactionary emails and offers, I create a weekly non-transactionary newsletter to better connect with our customers.
Content
The San Francisco Marathon hired me to write copy, however, over time, the focus of my work shifted more toward content. Because they didn’t have a writer before I stepped in, their blog was a little neglected.
To remedy this, I started to work with two specialists to bring The San Francisco Marathon customers a blog full of resources, curiosities, and profile pieces. The main focus is to provide valuable content in a friendly, neighborly manner.
Thanks to this project, I’ve improved my interviewing skills, learned to format blog posts in WordPress, and built on my previous editorship experience. Working with the neighbor persona also proved to be a very enjoyable pursuit.
